Watching. Suffering through Tim Pawlenty while I wait. I can't believe he just lumped in Joe McCarthy with Al Franken.

[edit] at least he said not to raise debt ceiling.

02-11-2011, 02:27 PM
He's got good punchlines though, a few in the last 5 minutes.

"Just because we followed Greece into democracy doesn't mean we have to follow them into bankrupcy."

"The government spends like keith olbermann talks - too much and without a point"

He meant Eugene, though the comparison is still an insult.

Watching, I hope to become (temporary) deaf from the cheers when Ron comes out. And nursing a fantasy where he announces his campaign during the speech. ;)

See, if Ron swung onto the stage, kicking whom ever is speaking off to the tune of "America..FUCK YEA!" he would get more votes. We need that "he's the cool candidate", the zombies love it.

Wonder if the politicians in Rome gave speeches like this when their empire was being flushed down the toilet. All this America exceptionalism, "we will overcome" talk reminds me of those 50-year-old dudes with beer-guts who sit in a room feeling like state champions as they watch VHS tapes of their high-school games.

Not when he has spent 30 years trying to get rid of the income tax.

If he sees it in reach he might. Obama is pushing reform of the tax code, HIS way. I think Ron wants to preempt the discussion and thinks a flat tax is better than what we have, and what the mushy middle big government types want is worse. He has always said he would vote for what is better. As always, the devil is in the details, of course.

I personally think this is probably the most simple tax there is beyond Fees for services. I like the idea but it still is technically unconstitutional. He's going to need to do a lot of explaining in the media to explain his reasoning. Of course, i would choose this 10% over the 30% normal income tax and if we are not going to get rid of the 30% why not do this?

Epic pwn-age of the globalists and warhawks and the FED. Loved the part where he distinguished between defense and the military.

On the right side, middle of the page, under lists. Top 10 trending and you can change the location, he has dropped and now is 10th in the US and 4th in DC. Hey whats your twitter?

Mine is TruthSeeker10. Got a nice debate going on with two blind Neo-Cons. And a ton of coverage on Egypt.

I think Ron misspoke when he said the Fed handed out $4 billion. Did he mean $4 trillion? Am also unclear about the connection between lawmakers regulating our lives domestically and "swearing off violence" to our neighbors. While both are important issues, I lost RP on the apparent connection he was trying to draw here.

It's been this way since he ran in 2007. We all went through the same thing then. Everyone in the media bashes Ron Paul. Everyone in the GOP laughs at him.

There were also boos at the beginning, as far as I could tell. I'd say we need to let the media know that Romney supporters were rude, but we should take the high road and win this thing.

I thought the liberals liked Ron Paul's foreign policy views?

How did you figure that out?

Sure liberals (leftists actually) dish out anti-war rhetoric from time to time but look at their policies. Obama promised to close GITMO, end the war in Iraq, etc. But what are his policies? The exact opposite. Clinton's administration basically drafted the plan to oust Saddam from Iraq. Joe Biden is the architect of the PATRIOT Act! And don't get me started on Vietnam.

Its like how Republicans are rhetorically against spending but once they get into power they spend, spend and spend like a bunch of drunken sailors. Its the same with lefties and war.

Its all just pure rhetoric to emotionally manipulate people to gain power. Simple.

Wolf asking about 2012... Ron Paul says he'll probably decide "in the next couple months"

Wolf asks about Trump's statements, and Ron said that people said he couldn't win a congressional seat several times, but he did.

Wolf: "Ron Paul you are very impressive, if I can personally testify."

Wolf loves him.

Amazing, Amazing....

I think it may be an RP original. I think Rand said it, and they talk a LOT. Rand uses a lot of Ron's phrases from the campaign, and maybe vice versa, for all I know.

By golly I think I did hear it from Rand. And quite recently. Thanks. So I apologize for saying it wasn't an RP original.

Liberal voters are anti war but they always vote for the warfare liberal administrations based on domestic policy spin combined with out right lies about ending the war. Look at Obama for goodness sakes. And these people are not outraged at all. Obama flat out lied about Iraq and the people who voted for him don't even care.

Ron has GOT to work on his speech making skills.

I agreed with absolutely everything he said in that speech. But in the eyes of the people booing him, he seemed to be rambling and negative.

The thinking, reasoning people in this country already support Ron. The rest are trained to only respond to image, thus Romney's popularity. I know this speech was not campaign related, but a lot of potential voters probably watched the speech and possibly got turned off by the "same old crazy ron paul." :(

We love him for his honesty and raw truth. The people we are trying to wake up cannot absorb raw truth, only shallow image.
