I'll say this for the Reason crew; they know how to hone in on all the most interesting (and sometimes flat out wacky) people at these events.

John Birch Society shouldn't be bashing the gays - even Palin said GOProud should feel free to participate in CPAC. Makes JBS look fringe, a reputation they already have (though I largely agree w/ them politically and The New American magazine is excellent)

God can pinpoint the brimstone away from the JBS so that only the gays are hit, what a relief. :p

Wow. JBS really looked bad thanks to that old religious guy. I bet there are even people there with JBS that think GOProud being at CPAC is perfectly fine too, but apparently that old guy speaks for them lol.

I think this video overall makes CPAC look good though if those were the worst people they could find. I was expecting some far, far, far dumber interviews lol.

The thing is, John McManus is actually really good and really knowledgeable. It would have been much more diplomatic for him to say "I personally don't think homosexuality is moral, but it's not something that should be regulated by government. CPAC is a private event and if the organizers choose to accept GOProud, so be it."

John McManus may be a fundamentalist old relic, but I love his voice. He belongs in the voice actor industry. Would love for him to narrate some libertarian audiobooks. ;)

That was one of the few compliments I always paid to John Kerry also. I hated his politics, but I used to love listening to the guy talk, just to hear his mellifluous voice with that Yale-perfected elocution. He seemed born to be an NPR host or narrate the Bible, but decided to be a bloodthirsty control freak instead, completely missing his calling. Chris Dodd too!

Well, that made JBS look extremely unattractive.

God has his own punishment laid out for those that don't follow him, or so I hear. Let god worry about enforcing his rules and let people live their life. Who did Jesus force to follow his ways?
