Wonderful. There's NO WAY we can convince that many congressmen to vote against it when it comes up again as a simple majority.

LOL@ the following comments from the Hannity forum

Tea party and most democrats voting together. Does this make the Tea party folks liberals or the democrats conservatives?

I think it just makes them both logical.

I don't know how these bd rumors grow so quickly, but there was not tea party revolt against the patriot act.

In the House ther are 52 members of the tea party caucus.

http://bachmann.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=199440

44 of those 52 voted in favor of extending the patriot act
only 7 of those 52 (fewer than 14%) voted against it.

How many chromosomes over the threshold of viability do you have to be to be a member of Hannity's forum?

I just heard on Rush that the Heritage Foundation was contacting those 7 republicans that voted against the patriot act to convince them that this is the conservative position, and they will change their minds...

All the while Hannity had a fit over it not passing on his radio show and even had Peter "you don't know about the terror threats that I know about", "keep your 2nd amendment 1000 ft away from me", "debt makes us wealthier, get the hell out of my office" King on to scold opponents of it and insist that it be passed to keep us safe.

Somebody needs to correct that Long Island Bob guy on page 4. He claims that all the Patriot Act allows if for the FBI to ask a judge for a warrant. Um no - that's what the constitution allows. The Patriot Act allows the FBI to write its own warrants without involving the judge whatsoever. I'm sure most of you know that - but it's always great to educate others. If you have an account on there please let them know.

This is why it is so frustrating. People are so ignorant of these things and many times when you try to inform them they just do not listen, or call you a 'conspiracy kook', or other ad hom's. What the hell does he think NSL's are for? Roving wiretaps? Perjuring yourself? I mean come on.
