Sunday's Super Bowl set a new record for the largest U.S. television audience for a single broadcast.
The Green Bay Packers' 31-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Texas drew a U.S. TV audience of 111 million, topping the 2010 final tally by almost 5 million, according to data released on Monday by broadcaster Fox.

Meh. I'm still disappointed that the Superbowl took M*A*S*H's status.

That means that slightly less than one third of the population of the United States saw Christina Aguilera make a complete fool of herself.

Those numbers seem low to me every year.... even people I know who don't like sports end up usually getting roped in.

Leno had a good one. paraphrased: "With the Superbowl pushing the 'If you see something, say something' message, when Christina Aguilera botched the Star Spangled Banner, 50 million people immediately called in"

:D

Meh. I'm still disappointed that the Superbowl took M*A*S*H's status.

MASH had just under 106 million viewers for it's final episode in 1983. If you adjust for "inflation" (population) MASH is still the winner!
