Chris Christie is on it, Jeb Bush is not, but otherwise the CPAC straw poll ballot is pretty much the longest list possible of plausible candidates:

a. Michele Bachmann
b. Haley Barbour
c. Herman Cain
d. Chris Christie
e. Mitch Daniels
f. Newt Gingrich
g. Mike Huckabee
h. Jon Huntsman
i. Gary Johnson
j. Sarah Palin
k. Ron Paul
l. Tim Pawlenty
m. Mitt Romney
n. Rick Santorum
o. John Thune

Crap. Gary Johnson is on it. I figured that would happen with his outside event there, and his invitations to all to 'come see him'. He won't get much but it might be enough to sink Ron from winning. I just remember Gary getting one vote last year at SRLC -- and Ron losing by one vote. Didn't do Gary any good, either.

Whatever, I guess. It is what it is.

There are a lot of copycats of Ron on a bunch of issues this time, although no one has the whole package except Ron. That will inevitably keep some from looking at Ron who might otherwise have done, but so it goes. People who look at records won't be fooled, but if more people looked at records, this country wouldn't be in the shape it is in.

I strongly suspect they would have suggested it and he turned them down. I agree that would have been much worse than GJ.
