If you are coming in Wednesday or Wednesday night be aware of an apparent major snow storm making it's way through the South.
Looks like it will specifically impact middle and eastern TN by Wednesday. This also of course includes region bordering Georgia, TN, WV, VA, SC, NC, and KY. Since that is a major route for many people coming to DC THROUGH THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS be sure to allow contingency plans to make it to CPAC by Thursday 4pm to vote in the straw poll!

I think the storm is actually in DC and the north on Thursday.
Not really sure.

Nations have toppled, wars have been won, and elections have been lost due to the weather.

Well considering I live in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, I think I'm screwed >.< Unless, they let planes fly on Thursday morning (at 5AM), in which case, I'm not screwed.
But um, yeah, if I'm late to the event guys, now you know why.
Update: this does not look good >.<: http://www.wunderground.com/ (http://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin/findweather/getForecast?query=28710&hourly=1&yday=40&weekday=Thursday)

As evidenced by what happened to the British in 1814 during their siege of Washington, of all places, during the "War of 1812".

You know, for those of us who are young, healthy and prepped, it's like, "piece o' cake." But my parents are in their late 60's, my dad can't strain himself shoveling snow because of his pacemaker, and my mom needs to be able to get to work even though she just had her second hip replaced (if she fell and broke she'd be stuck in a wheelchair for life).
I'm tired of seeing these damn snow storms and I think everyone should drive their hummers and SUVs as much as possible, turn up the thermostat, and use aerosol cans or do whatever the hell they can to increase global warming as much as possible because I'm sick of the cold.

Whoa...
If I'm reading the charts right, it'll only get half of Kentucky on Wednesday... perhaps if leaving a little early is an option, it could be avoided?

Another good one is the "rain miracle" celebrated on the column of Marcus Aurelius. http://www.livius.org/le-lh/legio/rain.html

That's not good news. I'm driving from eastern NC to DC early Thursday morning, and I don't have tires that are good for snow/ice..

Around the Nashville area the Interstates are almost ALWAYS ok during snow, except for a very severe and rare ice storm. I can't speak for everywhere else.

How is everyone holding up? We had one KY cancellation of 2 individuals thus far (largely, although not entirely) due to the weather.

What in the world is with all of this snow we've been seeing in the south? The level and frequency of it is completely uncharacteristic, even taking into account the time of year.

Didn't know you were from Bat Cave! I've been there many times, I love that place. It is beautiful, along with Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. I love the Rocky Broad River - probably one of the top 5 most beautiful rivers I've ever seen!

Global warming, BuddyRey... global warming!
LOL! Well can't they find a way to keep global warming going during the winter months and halt it in spring/summer? With all those fancy weather modification tools and the HAARP program, I'd think those dang politicians would have figured this all out by now.

Sometimes I wonder if when people do this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1343470/Have-scientists-discovered-create-downpours-desert.html , there aren't some unintended consequences.

?? global warming doesn't mean it gets warm all over the earth , it just means weather patterns change!! causing warmer climates in areas that are colder and vice versa!!! snowing doesn't mean global warming isn't happening! The bottom line is the human race will have to survive or die if it is mother nature or man!! instead of trying to debunk global warming or chilling by mother nature or man. It might be better to learn to survive on either option!!

WTF are we weathermen now?
YEAH BABY! - and we even get an Egyptian twist to it....
WE ARE THE TRASHMEN
(to the tune of "Come Together")
From the Weather Underground Song Book
We are the Trashmen we got
Bricks and bottles we got
Stones and sticks right on
Politics
Put gas in the bottle and heave it along
It's the Pepsi generation and it's rising up strong
Trash together
Right now
Off the pig
We love the VC and the
Cuban people and the
Pathet Lao and the
Tupamaros
Huey P Nuton
Ho Chi Minh
We're rising up strong and we know that we will win
Trash together
Right now
Off the pig
