The Tennessee ACLU sent a letter to public schools warning them not to celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. The Tennessee Fusion Center (H/T Uncle) put the communication on its map of “terrorism events and other suspicious activity”:

“ACLU cautions Tennessee schools about observing ‘one religious holiday,’” the website’s explanation reads.

Also among the map’s highlights: “McMinn County Teen Brings Gun to School,” and “Turkish National Salih Acarbulut Indicted in Chattanooga for Alleged $12 million Ponzi Scheme.”

Mike Browning, a spokesman for the Fusion Center, said “that was a mistake” to label the ACLU letter as a suspicious activity. He said the Fusion Center meant to use the icon that means merely general information. The icon was changed after the ACLU sent its news release, he said.

“It’s still on the map,” Browning told The City Paper. “It has been reclassified into the general information category.”

But a look at the website shows there is no icon for general information. Instead, the icon for the ACLU letter now signifies “general terrorism news,” according to the website’s legend.

This follows a long line of fusion center and DHS reports labeling broad swaths of the public as a threat to national security. The North Texas Fusion System labeled Muslim lobbyists as a potential threat; a DHS analyst in Wisconsin thought both pro- and anti-abortion activists were worrisome; a Pennsylvania homeland security contractor watched environmental activists, Tea Party groups, and a Second Amendment rally; the Maryland State Police put anti-death penalty and anti-war activists in a federal terrorism database; a fusion center in Missouri thought that all third-party voters and Ron Paul supporters were a threat; and the Department of Homeland Security described half of the American political spectrum as “right wing extremists.”

My head feels like its going to explode. It seems to be coming at us from every direction. When we fight gaainst one thing ten other things blindside us. We need to get to the heart of all of it. The scumbags who own the Federal Reserve.

Keep you hatches battened down and yourselves squared away my pals. Make sure you have at least 6 months of long-shelf foods on hand and as many firearms and as much ammunition as you can get your mitts on. Do not panic. If you can organize, do so - even if only with your immediate neighbors because if this thing lets loose you WILL need to have each others' backs. Try not to be lazy about this and you can package it as "emergency preparedness" rather than as doomsday. Those in New Orleans would have profited greatly from this had they prepped, but instead of whole blocks meeting cops head on with weapons unlocked and loaded, they were picked off piecemeal. There is a real lesson there and do not anyone fool yourself into thinking that just because a state or municipality passes a law or ordinance banning confiscation that that is going to protect you. The fucking Constitution doesn't protect you. YOU have to protect you. Yah, hello.

No freak out. Remain calm, and for Jesus' sake be as ready as you can for... whatever. I would also consider establishing a coding system for phone/radio comms. Design it to require the fewest words possible like "code red, John Doe's house. Pass the word <click>" to get people to show up, armed and ready, if police come to John Doe's house without just cause. Have agreed upon and PRACTICED cascade lists for calling up the troops. Have canned text messages ready to fly if cops show up at your door in a bad mood.

This all sounds completely insane, I know, yet these are the times in which we are living... or existing at any rate. Right now community is more important than perhaps at any time since the Revolution. It may be the only thing that enables us to keep our freedoms and even our lives. Doesn't much matter how you bunch yourselves - by church, rotary, NAMBLA (just kidding), liberty lovers... The more divided we are the less our chances of surviving a directed attack. I see precious little of this being done and it is worrisome in the extreme. Alone, we stand zero chance of getting through if we become persons of interest.

Remember the Minutemen? Their time is returned and that is no joke. We either take responsibility for governing ourselves or these rabid lunatics are going to put us to the wall. Hell, we're there now - all that is left is to put us THROUGH the wall.
