Question to the forum.

- The military has been upping it's presence in Cairo
- The police which were withdrawn for two days are now back in the city
- Al Jazeera has been cut off from broadcasting any live images
- Internet and cell phones which were cut off, then turned back on somewhat, have now been completely cut again

What do you think? Is Mubarak about to start firing live rounds into the crowd in order to end the protests?

I believe he wants to.
He may even order it. The Army commanders may be loyal to him. The ground troops are not.
I have no doubt that the Security Forces would, they have been.

The question is, will the troops fire on their own people?
If they do. (I have doubts) What will be the worlds reaction. The country is not blacked out. People have made alternate connections. HAM, SAT, Land-line phone.
The world will be watching.

My question (and I will be watching) will the Army troops fire on the Security Forces?
History is being made here.

are there any other live video feeds coming out of Cairo?

In Tunisia, the military and some police turned on the country's leader. However, some reports have stated that they did this for their own gain. They wanted pensions and better pay, which, in a way, dilutes the message behind the revolution.

But I hope things can remain peaceful in Egypt.

For reference, this was from Tunisia, and you don't want this happening

I don't know what there will be tomorrow.
The government Thugs are arresting Journalists and confiscating gear. But video and voice will be smuggled out.
There are several work arounds for the blacked out internet.

The Egyptian demonstrators are not going to be slaughtered... their will be a military coup and Mubarak ousted out of the country before any massive killings.

I don't think they will start firing on a million of their own. Can't see it happening. I just hope this ends quick and with little bloodshed. I have a feeling we are close. Mubarak has to see the writing on the wall by now.

I don't know. With that many people, it really is easy to spark a fight. All it would take is one bomb or one "crazy" with an automatic weapon.

Not surprising. Can't trust military revolutions. Of course they want more pay.

Briefly,
- Military's numbers are too few to replace security forces; yesterday they made a clear statement saying they "acknowledge the legitimate demands of the honorable people" and that they "will never use violence against the people"
- Police were not allowed into the neighborhoods, only the main streets, where they are mostly directing traffic and cannot be seen anywhere near Tahrir Square
- Aljazeera is broadcasting live images again from a fixed camera somewhere but not conducting live interviews expect by phone
- Internet is partially back, cell phones are totally back

There's a lot going behind the scenes that we don't know yet. I believe the airforce is loyal to Mubarak (he used to be an airforce pilot), a couple days ago F-16s flew low over Tahrir Square in a show of force, possibly for the ground troups there.

Moody's downgrades Egypt's debt rating, another downgrade possible.

That's the one i've been watching. They were showing a live video feed of Tahrir Square, but have stopped. They started airing reports and other interviews. I'm looking for a live feed of Cairo.

*ok, now they're airing some live video. Just aren't keeping it up 24/7. Thanks :)

March starts at 1:00am CST

I'm switching between Arabic and English. The Arabic is here (http://www.aljazeera.net/channel/livestreaming?GoogleStatID=32)but I don't think you'll understand much out of it.

The march seems to be going well so far. Lots and lots of people. I don't know if there are a million or not. Seems like the army is "facilitating" the march by frisking people for weapons. That makes me feel uneasy, especially since the march is supposed to end at the palace, or whatever it's called, where some might try to get in.

aljazeera is reporting estimates approaching 2 million in tahrir square. That doesn't even include the massive protests taking place in other cities as well!

They have stopped several groups attempting to bring weapons. Some identified as Security Forces and have turned them over to the Army.
The people are their own security.

It is apparent that the Regime is wanting violence. The Protesters do not.
