It was the Government Security Forces. The footage you saw was State TV Propaganda.

governments don't fall for political reasons, but economic. Eastern Europe was stable until they fell so far behind the west; the USSR fell when bankrupt; but Singapore is as stable as it ever was.

the unemployment in Detroit among the young is as high, or higher than Tunis or Cairo. add higher food/fuel prices and it will ignite the same way.

Cindy is right, it will happen here and it will be much much worse. I don't think it will happen until 2013 but when the food stamps buying much food we have a populace armed to the teeth who will fight like hell and loot.

We're able to ride that edge because we've always had a better economy and our currency was the reserve of the world. Don't get me wrong, we're still gonna collapse at this pace and everybody that holds dollars will soon regret it, but with America starting out as the capitalist society that we are/were, we've been able to hold our heads above water longer than anybody else. We kinda floated out of nowhere in between a bunch of totalitarian societies like the flame on a match and then burned out after a couple hundred years and allowed ourselves to be compromised by crony capitalism which is totalitarian in form.
