So what is it these protestors are calling for? more government (hand outs, etc) or less government (liberty)?

By the nature of the protests, I'm guessing it's for more government / redistribution, unfortunately. Someone please prove me wrong?

Thats what it will turn out to be in the end probably . To be fair to them now , the govt. is oppressive . It is a poor country . Problems with jobs , wages , food , education . Govt. cannot fix those , the people have to .

This does seem to be the case, though if you listen to some of the protesters, they just seem to articulate the desire for more freedom of speech, press, etc. From what I have learned in these past few days, Egypt is a virtual police state, so I would guess that that would be their main priority for now.

Perhaps from this the people of Egypt will learn to mistrust government more and turn more towards the liberty side, but it's a very big if, and I would prefer not to speculate because I have never been to Egypt and I don't know that many people who have come from Egypt (not well enough to talk politics with, anyway).

Both - some want more freedom, and some want more handouts. After the government falls, we see who wins.
