Ron Paul has recently said "I'm ambivalent about what to do next and undecided." He's not sure the support is there, how about we prove it to him? Winning the CPAC poll will not only help him make his decision but it's also going to be the starting ground for Ron Paul, top tier candidate.

You know MelissaCato, I'm sure. If you go up to the CPAC 2011 thread in the Ron Paul forum at least some of the people noone has heard of have been vouched for by longer term members; one was a DP member who was sent here because he could go scheduling wise but not money wise, others have other credentials. You have to see if you are satisfied.

hey lord xar, I know we do not know each other but i can tell you every chipin on my sig is legit and is either thru someone i know or friends of rpf friends!!! i cannot speak for everyone but the idea is if someone doesn't have enough to go they will donate to the next rpf member who can but i suspect we are gonna do everything in our power to make sure they all go! Though i have donated what i can out of my check this week i get one more paycheck before cpac! We have mods and many rpf members looking out for scammers!!

Either paypal or your bank may be considering it 'suspicious activity'. My bank has decided to protect me that way from time to time.... typically when I am traveling, however.

I don't have a direct answer either, but you could try a few things.

1. Go through PayPal directly rather than through ChipIn. It won't show up on the ticker but he'll get the money sooner (maybe).
2. Try paying by credit card or debit card, rather than through your PayPal account. That is, don't sign into PayPal to complete the payment. Act as if you are a non-member.

Got an idea but nowhere the tech-savvy to do it:
Set up like an ExCel spreadsheet with Name, Chip-In Addy, and amt. needed. The amt. needed could be like a countdown (opposite of the money bomb tally). People could see which RPFers needed the most help. Then we can celebrate as each one hits zero. Is that possible?
Also, Suggest that those with Chip-Ins, if they find alternative funding ($25 from Mom or something) they could post so we could reduce the amt. needed. Like I said, I'd have no idea how to do this. I did try to post an ExCel sheet with all the Chip-Ins at current totals, but it came out really messy (no grid lines or anything) so I deleted it.

PER MROCKED, C4L HAS ALMOST RUN OUT OF TICKETS. IF YOU WANT TO GET THE TICKETS THROUGH C4L WITH DISCOUNT YOU NEED TO GET THEM. THEY SAY THEY MAY NOT EVEN HAVE THEM THROUGH THE 30TH.

This is good news, but would be a real downer if you waited til the end of the chip in to get the ticket then couldn't. If you have a relatively small amount to cover, you might want to take the risk and buy the ticket. What do others donating think?

Hey guys- I might be a little late, but i'd love to make the trip down and support Dr. Paul. I have a clear schedule for thurs and fri, but don't really have the funds to get there. I have friends that live right in DC, and I've confirmed that I will be able to stay with them, so the only thing that's holding me back is the transportation. It's a 9.5 hour drive for me, which is a bit unfeasible, especially since I will be driving solo. The cheapest flight I could find from Providence to DC would be $126 round trip. If I could get some help with this cost, I will be able to buy a student ticket, which I can afford at $11. Any help in getting there would be much appreciated!

Start a thread and a chip in. Does anyone here know you or do you have facebook etc showing activism? Look at the other threads for the kind of stuff they posted. And I'd say buy the ticket first because that $11 ticket goes up as soon as C4L runs out.

I totally wasn't planning on going to CPAC at all but when Josh told me to post and ask, and I just saw the wheels in motion, I knew we would pull through because our force is massive. I am a homeschool mom of 5 who has been following Ron Paul for about 4 years now.

You can google 'Amy Hedtke Ron Paul' and see my posts elsewhere on Facebook... staunch RP supporter here. My son got his pocket constitution autographed by RP back when he was campaigning in Denton TX [my son read the Declaration of Independence at the event] and Debra Medina at a local Dallas-area event. I even printed out RP flyers and quietly posted them all over the Obama Dallas campaign rally: bathrooms, backs of doors, on the walls, ANYWHERE, lol. My husband has been on unemployment since July 2008 and just recently got a contract job that we're hoping becomes fulltime. I would LOVE to take my older guys to CPAC --shoot, I'd take all 5 kids if i could and turn it into the learning experience of a lifetime!

but even if it's just me, I'd be honored to have y'all's help in attending. thanks for offering!

I've been pretty busy trying to watchdog our local politicians, so I haven't joined the RP forums till I saw Michael's facebook about looking for serious RP supporters.

so far I have about 4 different goals depending on how much we can raise:

1. Getting ME to CPAC. I can drive up and stay in an inexpensive hotel and eat cheap. :-)

2. Getting me and Steve to CPAC. same gas, similar hotel expenses, extra mouth, extra ticket.

3. Me, Steve, and my 16yo son--

4. All seven of us! we'd need a suite. more to eat....

Ideally I'd LOVE to bring the whole family.

DFW -> DC= 1,358 miles.
van @ 20 mpg = 68 gallons gas. x $4/g =$272 x 2 [RT] =$544 fuel.

suite: $150/night x 4 nights = $600

continental b'fast.
meals = $10 well-planned can feed all 7 for one meal.
2x/day x 4 days = $80

tickets: 2 adults, 5 kids

if we can get $1300 from supporters, we can handle the rest i think.....

any funds not used for the trip [i.e. we don't get enough monetary support to cover it or more than enough for just a couple of us] will be donated to another last minute/closer chip in candidate for Ron Paul on the forums. if we don't have enough to go by Monday morning before the convention starts we'll sit it out this year and look forward to next.
we do lots of ongoing citizenship projects with our 4-H club....

we all have to figure out away to fill them:) my chipin was for 550 but i used over 50% of my chipin helping others and i donated an additional 200 on top of that!! If anyone on rpf has the money to help these chipins? PLEASE PLEASE DO , for those that can help please email me? I can sure do my best to help your costs on a colorado vacation etc!! willing to be a free tour guide in summer or winter for you and if you snowboard or want to learn to snowboard. Chat room today (last night?) we talked about having a meeting around pay day in the chat room to take care of remaining chip-ins. About $2300 is all we need, unless there are new ones. Since there were 120 members on this website yesterday, I'd say that we'd have a good chance of closing out the chip-ins if everyone, well, chipped in.That's less than $200/member. Maybe someone could see if there are any epople canceling out who got cheap tickets and can't go now. That could bring the price down for the group that didn't get their tickets before the price increase.

My best friend Jason R (who I helped get elected to the Republican Party board here in town) needs assistance getting to CPAC. Tonight I finally convinced him to go but he will only go on the condition that he gets his chip-in filled -- his wife had to give him permission ;-) Like myself, he isn't able to afford this trip to vote for Ron Paul in the straw poll without financial assistance.

Jason is hardcore liberty and we met during the Ron Paul campaign in 2008 although we didn't really get to know each other and become friends until after the election was over. He turned me on the to very awesome Mike Church radio show as he actually knows a lot more about what's going on in the world than I do. He's only been to 1 event like this and that was the inexpensive FL Liberty Summit last year.

He is going with 2 other people to CPAC and of course I'll be there too (due to logistical difficulties and work/school schedules we are not all able to ride together). They need help with hotel room and parking fees specifically (it's freakin $30/day to park at the hotel!!!).

My name is John Clennan. I am a current graduate student at St. John's University in Jamaica, Queens, my major is Government and Politics. I also just completed my undergrad work at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, Long Island, there, I double majored in Political Science and Business Administration, and also, double minored in American Studies and History.

I have worked to put myself through college, and still do. I go to college during the day and overnight I stock shelves at a grocery store, this has been my schedule, year round, for the last five years. I say this not to brag but to show that I would not take advantage of the group's generosity.

In addition to this I am also active in local politics and issues. I am the organizer of the Suffolk County's local Campaign for Liberty meetup. Also, Ron Paul is not new to me as I drove from New York to Minnesota a few years ago for the Rally for the Republic, and was an active supporter of his in 2007, and 2008.

I am asking for help to raise $170. This amount will cover two nights in the Holiday Inn, in Arlington, Virginia, and the rest will partially subsidize my gas expense, for the drive from New York to Arlington.

Below I have linked to my Facebook page, the name is Winston Smith from 1984, however as you can see in the URL it says Jclennan. I did that for bit of privacy as I was applying to Graduate Schools and wanted to limit my exposure on the web. I have also supplied a link to the Meetup that I organize. Chat room today (last night?) we talked about having a meeting around pay day in the chat room to take care of remaining chip-ins. About $2300 is all we need, unless there are new ones. Since there were 120 members on this website yesterday, I'd say that we'd have a good chance of closing out the chip-ins if everyone, well, chipped in.That's less than $200/member. Maybe someone could see if there are any epople canceling out who got cheap tickets and can't go now. That could bring the price down for the group that didn't get their tickets before the price increase.

I'm in for a $100 this weekend and likely another $100 on tue or wed of next week! Wish I could do more:( ALL RPF members need to get chip-in-in, before it's too late!
