CHICKASHA, Okla. -- Chickasha police officers recently got a bit of a shock. They dealt with a suspect so unruly, officers had to taser him at least 11 times before taking him into custody.

Police were called to a domestic dispute at a Chickasha home Friday night.

Inside they found 27-year-old Dennis Ray Maloney, Jr., of Lawton.

Police say Maloney was undressed and unruly.

"He just kind of snapped, became violent and the wrestling match was on," said Lieutenant Dan Perske of the Chickasha Police Department.

Lieutenant Perske is one of two officers punched during the scuffle; there were no serious injuries.

It took three police officers, three taser guns and numerous jolts to get Maloney into custody.

"Normally the taser is very effective. People want little of it. They get right up and are ready to go to jail," said Perske.

Why did it take so many jolts of the taser to take the suspect into custody?

Police say they suspect he was under the influence of drugs.

Maloney is charged with felony assault and battery on a police officer.
