I think that some meetups are going to transition to Facebook..... it's free and almost everyone already has one.

Be interesting to see how it works if they try. I can see that working with very small meetups, but lack of a calender, bulk mailing, threaded message board, etc. doesn't make Facebook really good for this.

Yahoo has the tools and is free, but isn't that popular. Need to check in with Google grps again and see how they are going. hey were certainly improving last I saw.

Are you in contact with the organizers of, say the Santa Barbara one? Are they going to renew?
