i've just spent a few hours shoveling myself!
i'd tell him to shovel small amounts each time...
and to fling them far, rather than big amounts sorta
plunked nearby. it helps to keep up a degree of
visability! hopefully he can get back to texas!

Didn't there used to be a forum with the tag line " If you want to discuss what Ron Paul had for breakfast, post it here....?" Or maybe I saw that somewhere else on the internets.

I think there was, now that you mention it...but I haven't seen it for 2 years or so.

I would have thought Ron Paul would say that it's just fluff. ;)

If they cannot do it , I view it as evidence that it is a hoax !!

Too bad the snow plows are run by the government and not the free market.

Actually, quite a few New England towns sub contract the plowing out to private businesses.

Back in my younger days I drove a plow truck/fish guts, dump truck that was hired by Gloucester MA.

Got snowed in on I-95 in Connecticut - 2 feet in <12 hours. I paid a homeless man $40(although he had a nice tarp/pallet house in a vacant lot with picket fence and gate surrounding is home- he even had a patio) to help dig me out. It was a big job. After 4 hours of digging my truck barely budged. --- Off to lowes for salt and to find a snow plow...

While walking to lowes to buy the salt I found two plowman at a restaurant parking lot. I then found one more at Lowes. Lucky me, carrying 100 lbs of salt would not have been fun. For ten bucks he gave me a ride back, and made a couple of runs. Not enough to get my truck out though -- but as luck would have it - the two plows from the restaurant showed up - For $40 cash they cleaned almost the whole lot! They knew what they were doing.

Gotta love the free market.

TMike

PS- The pilot truck stop had a subcontractor for snow plowing --- but the poor chap had no idea what he was doing. In <30 minutes my guys had done the job that the other fellow had been attempting all morning.

I'm sure if Dr. Paul wanted help, he would have more than he needed 15 min after posting.

Unfortunately, it's not so much a matter of digging yourself out, it's a matter of the rest of the streets. If you live in most parts of the country, the main streets are plowed first, then the feeders, etc. If, on the other hand, you live in DC, most of the "snow" emergency budget will have found it's way up the Mayors nose and a state of emergency will be declared once 2 inches of white stuff has fallen.

This is traditional.

Uhh, Rand lives with him. Why doesn't he just tell the young man to get to work shoveling?

I imagine it's because Rand is a big boy now...isn't he?

Psh, he should still be shoveling the snow for his paps. In the rare event of a snowstorm, I still go to my moms house to shovel her stairs and driveway. I also take out her garbage every week.

As for the snow..I hope it clears up before CPAC. I got my oil changed and tires looked at yesterday for the trip, mechanic told me he'd be worried about my crappy tires if it's really icy up near DC..
