I've said for a while now that Rand's fiscal message is going to draw the line between the responsible members of congress and the irresponsible members of congress.

Pretty soon, I predict that we will start to hear liberals and neocons sounding like Rand...for the mere fact that they want to sound as responsible as he sounds.

The Democrats are trying to claim that Rand is proposing huge cuts in food stamps, but all he's doing is returning the funding levels to 2008 levels. He's simply getting rid of Obama's huge increase in food stamps. The House Republicans' proposal on that issue is actually more drastic, as they're proposing returning all department spending levels to 2006 levels.

Except, are there not a lot more people in need of food stamps now than 2010 due to the sh*t economy?

Thanks!

I'm glad people showed up for Rand's caucus meeting, too.

Even Fox is calling this plan extreme. I don't see how it's extreme.. it's just 1/3 of the deficit. It's a modest plan to get us back on track.

I know, right? Imagine a board of directors at a company pondering these kinds of financial decisions to get the business back on track. It'd be a no-brainer.
