Did anyone else see the interview on the Ed Show? Hopefully we'll see a tube of it soon. She just abruptly stopped speaking at the end of the interview. I don't know for sure but maybe it was because they were telling her in her ear to wrap it up and she got confused.

Anyway, it was about how she is getting death threats because of Glenn Beck's coverage of her speeches and papers. So I guess her own words are Beck's fault?

I don't have youtube capabilities, but if anyone does, it was within the first 5 minutes of O'Donnells 8pm show on msnbc "The Last Word" today (1/24/11).

And you're right Deb, they are fightin' words.

Of course it's fake. There's no such thing as a 24/7 news channel called "MSNBC." Gaw.

It was real, the Producer was fired if my memory serves me correctly.

I've been going around and around with a progressive idiot on another forum about this. Apparently she didn't really mean the things she said, and he didn't really say the things he meant. So it's his fault. Or something.

Ok that was bizarre. My guess is the producer heard her talking about the unemployed protesting and marching and told her to basically 'shut up'?

You guys don't think something like this would have been picked up by the media? A quick google search confirms that it was faked by comedian Chris Matta.

She pondered why people were not up in arms protesting the high unemployment. Maybe because there was a Democratic Congress and President. The left leaning people who believe government is the answer to every problem had their people in the positions of power so how could they protest. She says she wrote a short essay and she never mentioned the real cause! Then she gets on national tv and gets off the message of bashing the right and starts talking about protesting, hahaha.

Here's the article she's referring to just before she stops talking. My guess is that someone is telling her not to bring this story up since in it, she is essentially advising the unemployed to riot - become "unruly mobs", make "demands", "become more disruptive", convince themselves to be angrier, that they are owed, and to "target" others! She also admits unions don't care about the unemployed because they don't pay dues - once unemployed, members become "malcontents". :p:rolleyes:
www . thenation. com/article/157292/mobilizing-jobless

some excerpts:

"….So where are the angry crowds, the demonstrations, sit-ins and unruly mobs? After all, the injustice is apparent."

"...most unions do little for their unemployed, who after all no longer pay dues and are likely to be malcontents."

"...before people can mobilize for collective action, they have to develop a proud and angry identity and a set of claims that go with that identity. They have to go from being hurt and ashamed to being angry and indignant……..So, a kind of psychological transformation has to take place; the out-of-work have to stop blaming themselves for their hard times and turn their anger on the bosses, the bureaucrats or the politicians who are in fact responsible."

"Third, protesters need targets, preferably local and accessible ones capable of making some kind of response to angry demands."

"Local protests have to accumulate and spread—and become more disruptive—to create serious pressures on national politicians. An effective movement of the unemployed will have to look something like the strikes and riots that have spread across Greece in response to the austerity measures forced on the Greek government by the European Union, or like the student protests that recently spread with lightning speed across England in response to the prospect of greatly increased school fees."

"Protests by the unemployed led by young workers and by students, who face a future of joblessness, just might become large enough and disruptive enough to have an impact in Washington."
