Former Delegate Ports is well known as the key opposition leader who boldly fought Dutch Ruppersberger's seizure of private property in Essex under the guise of eminent domain. He is also the former Minority Whip for the GOP in the Maryland General Assembly. Delegate Ports is a former Marine, and served in District 8, which covers Perry Hall, Parkville, Carney, Overlea, Fullerton, and Rosedale.
