The Department of Homeland Security has released a trio of chilling PSA video clips in which ordinary everyday activities are characterized as signs of potential terrorism, with the public being indoctrinated to assume the role of domestic spies reporting on their friends and neighbors as America sinks deeper into a decaying police state.

Following the January 1st implementation of the stasi-style “See Something, Say Something” campaign, in which Americans were urged to report “suspicious activity” by means of Orwellian telescreens placed at Wal-Mart checkouts which played a looped message from Janet Napolitano, the DHS announced that the program was set to be expanded to include 9,000 federal buildings, as well as sports stadiums, businesses and communities in general.

We now know how that expansion will manifest itself – with Americans at every level of society being trained that activities such as using cash, not having a credit card, taking pictures or video footage, asking questions, and wearing certain items of clothing are all suspicious and should be reported, while being coerced into living in constant fear of terror, when in reality they are more likely to die from peanut allergies, lightning strikes, or accident-causing deer than terrorist attacks.

These videos are so ridiculous it's funny. But it's sad because a good portion of people will believe the threat is real.

The obvious point of these videos is to make everyone scared, all the time.

I have to admit, it works... I am scared, for the future of this country.

Contrary to popular belief, the Gestapo was not the all-pervasive, omnipotent agency in German society.

The vast majority of Gestapo informers were not full-term informers working undercover, but were rather ordinary citizens who for whatever reason chose to denounce those they knew to the Gestapo.

According to Canadian historian Robert Gellately's analysis of the local offices established, the Gestapo was, for the most part, made up of bureaucrats and clerical workers who depended upon denunciations by citizens for their information. Indeed, the Gestapo, at times, was overwhelmed with denunciations and most of its time was spent sorting out the credible from the less credible denunciations.

Many of the local offices were understaffed and overworked, struggling with the paper load caused by so many denunciations.

Nope, I see it too. (or not, as the case would be)

Wearing a thick coat, taking pictures, paying with cash -- all signs of suspicious activity. This video cracks me up, and pisses me off at the same time. One huge propaganda video, that's what this is...
