Joining the Republican party in Georgia

I'm looking to join the Republican party in this state so that I can be ready to help Dr. Paul when he runs for president in 2012.

Are any commenters here members of the GA GOP? Is there any information that they won't tell you, which you might be able to share through your experience?

Do I have to take a silly loyalty pledge? Or is that just for the officers in the party?

There is no real formal registration process. For voting in the primary you just select Republican when you walk in. If you want to go to join your local party franchise just show up and they will make you fill out a membership form and probably pay $25 or so.
