There was a time when that made sense, but I don't even understand why people like or trust the TV sanitized version of police anymore. Do you ever watch Law and Order: SVU? The "heroes" are constantly committing clear acts of completely unnecessary brutality, lying to suspects to coerce false confessions, getting called on it, and having absolutely nothing happen about it time and time again. The "real life" shows like Cops or those absolutely revolting ones on Spike about "Code Enforcement" or "Southern Fried Stings" are even worse.
