How the end of empires comes much faster than one can imagine. We are at the brink right now. Listen to this guy...
It starts getting good at chapter 3.
PS The QA portion is great too. I wish our politicians were as clever and witty as these Aussies.

The fact that this feature has been commented by ONE lonely guy so far makes me believe that the attention span of most people on this forum is like, maybe... 5 minutes.

That's about right for me. I don't spend much time on the computer except at work and frequently that's about all the time I can spare between tasks or while waiting for something to run. :)

Yeah, that's about right. I'm so busy lately I only have time to scan the forums on most days. I will bookmark it for later, though.

That's true. See the Ron Paul 2012 article in my signature? I put much time and effort into it and posted here to spread the word - about 1500 thread views spread out through a few posts but only 2 people commented. On a site called "Ron Paul Forums". Same deal with my youtube videos - I used to post almost every new upload here but finally realized it was a waste of time - the youtube stats consistently showed only like 10 to 15 views coming from this site. So I've stopped wasting time posting on this site interesting news/articles/videos I find or things I create and mostly just post them in response to other posters' question(s) if a particular subject comes up.
I've seen Ferguson say interesting/worthwhile things before so I thanked you for posting, but don't always have the time to drop everything and watch a semi-long video (especially when I have so much already in my 'to do' list), so that's why I have no specific comments now for this video.

Thing is that once you watched so many videos and read so many articles on this subject or similar subjects you sorta find that everyone basically says pretty much the same thing and a universal pattern emerges of sorts where it becomes really silly to spend an hour to watch something you probably already know most of.
Right now every new thread that doesn't have some significant new info I just skim through and basically ignore.
Some people really don't understand their audience. It's a fundamental problem that inhibits communicating effectively. I'm talking to everyone who complains about forum members not commenting on long posts/videos.
Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.

What a waste of time.
If you listen to Ron Paul or Peter Schiff you already know everything and more! of what this guy pretends to be such a revelation. He is just a historian trying to comprehend the great lessons of history on the top of rise and fall of empires.
Guy says only rep. Paul Ryan wants to seriously address the deficit problem.
Yeah I found it really really odd that he would say that, I doubt its ignorance of american politics (he doesnt seem like the type), I just dont think he likes Ron Paul so he didnt wanna mention his name.

I could be wrong but I thought I heard him say one of the only people..not only.
But obviously if there is one out of the bunch that wants to address the deficit its Ron Paul and has been that way for many years.
None the less it was a well put together & delivered speech...I thought he did a great job in putting America's situation in a historical perspective.
