Deja vu all over again. Oil and Food going into a speculative bubble. (Disclaimer: A RELATIVE Bubble. Of course monetary inflation will eventually find it's way into price inflation on almost all products as the US Dollar loses it's value.)

1 in 6 people are starving to death on this planet. And this chick is like, "this is something that 'could' affect Americans". Yeah, it could, it will, and it should. Americans are living in a dream world when it comes to economic realities. We're on a traintrack that the world just can't extend out anymore. Prepare for derailment.

The loss of the Wheat Harvest in Russia/Ukaine is the size of TEXAS. That's a lot of lost pasta and bread off the shelves and skyrocking prices. WTF, the political Spin Doctors wil say exports are up and the economy is doing better as we all suffer... just watch.

The world is driving up our prices substantially because of the FIAT PAPER MONEY and the FEDERAL RESERVE's policies of INFLATION. Y'all know... INFLATION the OTHER HIDDEN TAX. So it's a double whammy upon US.

Food shortages do seem pretty likely in the next few years, but the question is how bad will it get? I don't think everyone in the U.S. is going to be starving to death, but there will be bread lines in most cities. You don't want to be in one of these lines. Imagine standing in line with the kind of people you see at the DMV, and they're hungry, thirsty and angry. Not a good place to be.

If you want to avoid becoming a refugee, start buying more of what you already eat and learn to preserve it for the long term. Also get a water purification system and enough fuel to boil it in case there are issues with water and power. Start with 2 weeks of food, then build up to 3 months, 6 months, etc. At least then maybe you can stay home until the worst is over.

Homesteading - The federal government owns huge acreages in the western states. They should share with individuals.
Repeal laws against industrial hemp.
Repeal legal tender laws making it legal to use honest money in transactions.

Those three things would be a start toward alleviating economic disorder by creating opportunity.

Food stamps still provide a very generous food budget. We will need to see 300% increases (and no increase in EBT allowances) before people are actually in any real danger of starving. This is not currently a risk. Riots would probably be likely to happen (however irrational) if the US Gov't collapsed due to increased burden such as a 300% increase in food price -- this is not an immediate threat, either, but it may not be many decades away, either.
