So as i was thinking chat rooms are a pretty direct way of conversation, so are forums but with chats its like everyone in a room persay.
I havent been active really since the 08 election and the 2012 election is about to blow up in our faces. Getting info and everything ron paul related quick through chat is easy and just educate yourself really by listening and joining a chat. The chat room will have you learning new things quicker and faster its such a benefit you got to join!!
There is 100's of people veiwing the forum maybe they dont have time but when you do should always log in to the chat. So wether you been here since whenever join the chat get involved and learn, then spread the knowledge.

I don't think we want to poison the chat room doofuses (apologies to CJ) with people who are actually trying to do stuff.

Eh, I wouldn't collectivize the chat.
It is our least moderated area, but things have gotten better as of late.
Many of the regular chat members were instrumental in helping out with grassroots projects for Rand, Lawson, and Schiff over the past 1.5 years.
I will however continue to ask that we clean up some of the vulgarity in there.

The chat did far more useful things for the 2010 elections than the entire forum did.
I don't think we want to poison the chat room geniuses with people who don't do anything.

Well, the jab was tongue in cheek, as I spend a little too much time in there myself. CaseyJones (CJ) is actually pretty good about keeping people on grass roots topics when something notable is going on.

Am I a chat room genius Jeremy?
Anyway, I was taking a jab as I said above.

The chat room ran all but 1 of the moneybombs for Rand Paul. They also put together the attack site on Trey and Jack. What did the forum actually do?

As an aside, is it ever going to happen/is it possible to have an ajax chat client that us slackers at work can use? The java client doesn't work behind the damned firewall around here.

So theres some pro's n con's , so far think pros out weighing here. but if we had some decent webmasters you would think could get 2 dif styles incase some people cant use the current one. ofcourse probably need lil more support for it from users

The Java chat applet also makes it INCREDIBLY difficult for Mac users to copy and paste links, etc, into the chat window.
Just sayin :(

Following chat takes too much time. You can't just check in every 30 minutes and expect to stay abreast with the conversation like in the threads. Those of us with RL's just don't have that kind of time.

The chatroom is very prominently featured on the site...I honestly don't think I've been in there once in all the time I've been here.
