I guess they're changing all of the faces of the Obama administration leading up to 2012. He's by far not the only one that's left recently. Rahm is gone, several economic advisors are gone, etc. Seeing Gibbs reminds people of the last 2 years of nonsense wrapped up in Hope and Change. Obama has to rebrand and reinvent himself as a centrist if he wants any shot at winning again.
