What a great interview. It seems to me like Ron hasn't sounded this energetic and forthright about our problems in a long time. Perhaps he's fired up because he's come to a decision about something...

What a great video. I especially liked the end where Rand said the congress should vote on all regulatory agencies regulations. Take that EPA

Ron doesn't quiet down even if it means cutting his own son. "We should at least attach mandates like cutting 100 billion."
Then Ron called it "Peanuts" and said 100 billion wouldn't matter. Awkward.

Rand said that he wouldn't vote for the increase in the debt ceiling unless a balanced budget amendment is attached to it. Rand is also going to introduce a bill that will cut $500 billion from the budget.

This made me question why Ron and Rand have been doing some interviews together. It is kind of odd to see two politicians sitting right next to each other being interviewed by the same person. Do you think they are giving double interviews simply because they were both invited or do you think it was a planned effort between them to show Ron's connection to Rand who tends to have a better reception among Neo-con voters? Could Ron be using his sons popularity to his advantage before the race even starts?

I think you're right! Rand is using his position to introduce people to his father. If anything, Rand may have a higher profile than Ron after the senate campaign, and at least has a different base. Although much of our opposition to the Fed and economic policies have been embraced by the Republican rank and file, we haven't made as much headway on foreign policy - now they're raising the issue in every interview - perhaps as a concerted effort to change that outlook. Actually though, I had sort of hoped Ron would make his rhetoric more comfortable to the Republican base, but instead they seem to be trying this technique... should be interesting.

Haha... Ron is a big believer in smooth transition plans, so it's intellectually dishonest to act like it means pulling the rug out under the entire country. Not that that ever stopped them. :( He's so straightforward though, it's rough to win elections like that... your quotes will be run in ads and the meaning twisted :(

Yep. If Ron ever won the GOP nomination and was running against Obama, I'm sure they would use that clip against him. Obviously Ron was joking about repealing the entire government.

I still think we could win... In fact, polling shows Ron having a far easier time in the general election than in his own primary. They pulled some similar tricks against Rand and it failed. Still, Rand is exceedingly careful what he says, and since I'm going all out for Ron in 2011/2012, I wish he would be too!
