Just more evidence that you don't own the cash that is in your pocket.

I always wondered about that. Someone writing something on a bill, or stamping it, is not doing so with the intent to render such bank bill unfit to be reissued. They want it to stay in circulation as long as possible, I would imagine.

writing on with a sharpie doesn't equal "unfit to be reissued", people "re-issue" bills taped together....

1) As long as you don't cover the serial numbers or denominations, you're fine and aren't breaking any laws.

2) Who cares?

3) As long as you don't go crazy with it, how are you gonna get caught?

Duh. Seriously, guys.

My favorites I've seen are the Andrew Jackson 20$ bills with an 'End the Fed' stamped next to his mouth, as if he's saying it - hahahahh

Indeed. Though you might want to stop short of stamping Dr. Paul's face over a President on a bill ;)

If it was backed by gold or silver, I imagine Dr. Paul would be grinning hard!

If not, I think he'd turn a lovely shade of green...

"unfit to be reissued"
imo if its recognizable as a dollar it can be used as one. Besides, the same government that comes up with this also charters incorporated souvenir companies to deface coins by squishing them at your local county fair. There is no mention of denomination.

The scanned dollar bill in the OP might want to be removed as it's largely unmodified. I used to work in a copy shop --> they can be sensitive about these things.

I just made two stamps. One is the Ron Paul REVOLUTION logo. The other is a word bubble that says "End the fed!"

I still have my revolution 08 stamp that we used back then. I am going to grab up some fresh stamp pads and get a new one designed. What better place to advertise the removal of the fed than on the greenbacks themselves.

STAMP THE FED OUT!!!!

Adding this to my marketing methods! Let other people gripe about the legality of this one as well LOL

We've been over this time and time again. They have repeatedly ruled that writing on the bills does not render them unfit to be reissued. As long as you're not destroying the money, it is not illegal.

This is why educational campaigns are pretty much useless. This has been posted here about 20 times, along with links to prove the assertions, and yet most of the people here still don't know it.
