If you're a regular, please do not visit the official website!!!! Wait to donate later if you must. It is extremely important that newcomers have no problem with it. So lay off for a while please!

it might not be a hack job. 800 people on here, I can't guess how many were loading their page before it crashed.

It's a good thing. The hq site, as far as I know, has never crashed cause too many people were trying to donate and find out about the man.

Though let's hope it gets back up soon

I'm sorry, but this is the first time I've posted something negative about the campaign.

It is completely unacceptable that this could happen. There are many smart people who know how to design a web site that scales.

This is really infuriating. Almost more infuriating than the 20% who boo in the debate.

this is actually not that difficult, it's a heavy page, 1000 hits per second and depending on their servers the site can go down - honestly, i'm happy about it, apparently dr paul scored big time !! :D

yeah their front page is very filled with crap now, might have been wise to put up a low resource page instead

They need to implement a load balancer with a priority queuing scheme.

Usually its the uplink pipe that is the bottleneck.

Yeah but does it matter if they can't access the site? Hopefully more people will use alternate sites like YouTube until the site is back up. I agree though, its unacceptable for a candidate's page to crash under ANY load.

I have no idea what you just said, but it sounds good, I hope the campaign does whatever it is you're talking about :D

Agreed. And to the people who think it was a hack job, they should have better security.

Ron Paul website was working right before Ron Paul gave his last answer.

Most ardent Ron Paul supporters were on Ron Paul forums or are watching TV waiting for Ron Paul to be on the air.

I am saying that chances are that ronpaul2008 has reached the limit of the speed at which they can serve pages through the uplink of their ISP, rather than the CPU or disk on the web server reaching their limits.

To help this, you can implement a queue priority scheme where all the requests are processed in an orderly fashion through the use of queues of varying priority. Those requests that are smaller, get preferential treatment.

One reason I am concerned about this November5 thing is whether their server will be able to handle it.

Someone needs to give HQ the heads up and let them know that over 5,000 people will be going that day to donate.
