Seriously. I would have bumped old threads instead, but the index isn't totally online yet.

Setting up a vB site is relatively easy if you just want a forum (whether public, private or both). What exactly are you needing/asking for from RPF members?

Got any info on how to set up VB on weebly? I made this site recently, and am not happy with the forum.
Here's my site: http://www.naturalrightscoalition.org (http://www.naturalrightscoalition.org)

for a site to hold a legislative agenda, that expands into actual bills and proposed legislation, as well as tracking my votes and whatever discussion on them.

My intended purpose for the website is listed at http://nc49.org/ I need someone to help me make that happen. And to start with making the agenda and legislation and voting records easy to access as well as track feedback, and tracked 'support tickets' for constituents in constituent services.

If someone can only do a part, still let's talk. Even one thing going on is better than pretty much nothing.

Money won't be spectacular, but my account is drawing a modest donor income, so it won't be free, either.

Hey Gunny I have some limited experience with Drupal. It is the Holidays so I'm pretty much lacking any serious time until January but I'll see what I can find and try and help you out. I should be able to Demo some ideas for you sometime next month.

all I know is I don't have the time to do it by myself anymore, and I need help crazy-fast. My dream would be for someone to take over the webdomain altogether to manage and update the site etc. My need is to start communicating with my constituents today.

I can install Drupal or Joomla today. We can talk about what theme to use, and then I can start handing you data to manage, and opening your access to that data. If the index were whole I'd be pinging the same people who were set up for this from our last 3 or 4 conversations lol. newbitech is helping with creating the virtual caucus, but the more minds the merrier too.

So I guess I'm just waving a flag. It's time to hand off my website.

I might be able to get in on this. I am setting up an Open Atrium site on an Amazon AMI. My motivation is organizing for Iowa but Drupal with a CRM on the backened can manage any type of content you can throw at it.

OK thank you, I will set up a Drupal. My campaign website is a Drupal, I have set up two of them, so at least I am comfortable with it. Would you rather the Drupal CM be a "Legislation" subdirectory (sub-site for all legislative actions), or are we better off on the site root? The 'legislative actions' is the puzzle piece that I want up yesterday, the rest can evolve at a less heartrending pace. So, depending on futurevision for the site this Drupal either gets put in ~/legis/ or on the public root.

Never heard of weebly, but if you have FTP access to the server running PHP on Apache/Linux, it's pretty easy to install and configure vB. Integrating it with weebly might be easy, might be hard (especially if you want to integrate the vB login system/database with whatever you are doing on weebly).

Yeah man, that's how I ended up running my own campaign site by myself in the first place. Only this time I'm trying to offer at least a little money too. I dunno man. When it came to my original campaign site, I set it all up and then went to hand it off and everyone kinda went away lol I tried to hand it off like 3 times.

I'm not starting over, even if I have to run the thing myself again lol. It'd be nice to have some help theming and dressing it this time though at least.

Sent you a PM

OK, rather than do the 'coming against a deadline panic" thing, I already have folks who will help me maintain the content. what I really need is help to dress it and theme is and add the WYSIWYG editor -- I've done it all to another site but it was precarious at best. Help me find a customizeable Drupal theme and then help me customize it. help me install the necessary modules into this website, and I will gather my content people to help me maintain it.

Never worked with Drupal before, but if you have no one stepping up. Just send me a PM.

Thanks! I just asked Ethek to help me build it, since he has expertise there, and I sent you a PM about creating a WP "publishing module" to collect stories destined for social sharing nirvana.
