Americans’ satisfaction with Congress has hit an all-time low in a Gallup Poll released Wednesday.
Just 13 percent said they approve of the job Congress is doing, while 83 percent said they disapprove.
The lowest approval rating for Congress in a Gallup survey prior to this poll was 14 percent in July 2008.
Among Democrats, 16 percent approve of Congress, down from 29 percent in November. Republicans are less positive, with 7 percent saying they approve of the job Congress is doing.
=========
It would be interesting if they had polled with questions about if the people answering knew what Congress was actually doing. I'm guessing some on both sides of the approve/disapprove line are not that familiar with the shenanigans.
Here's a bigger problem: While most Americans want to "kick the bums out", 87% of incumbents that ran for office won re-election. Most think it's the rest of Congress and their critter is just fine....
Problems:
Funding for the Entrenched
Lack of familiarity with their reps voting record and the legislation
Name recognition
Straight Rep & Dem voters as well as liberal vs conservative areas
Gerrymandering
Lack of good liberty candidates stepping up and sometimes neocons in "tea party" clothing.
others?
What can we do to fix this for 2012?
