the continuing resolution for funding - the tie over bill to fund the government until next year. Second comment. Not authoritative but they are as into their topics there as we are into ours, here.

As I understand it, anyone here illegally under 35 can claim they came at age before 16, and has 10 years to complete a two year requirement if they get a GED or take a single community college course. And once you are here legally (as they then would be) you already can adjust status, etc. They could then file to bring in family including the parents who brought them.
I haven't read it myself, but I've seen a couple of articles about it and it seems like the House version was a wish list amnesty. I'm hoping that means they know it won't pass and are only pretending that is the sort of bill the DEms would draft if they ever get the majority again -- unlike they've been doing the past two years when they actually had it. I've seen differing views on whether it will or won't pass, tomorrow. It will be a close cloture vote.

This isn't related to the DREAM Act, which is an immigration bill. The OP is referring to the continuing resolution for federal spending until the new Congress is seated. The Democrats caved last night and agreed to support a resolution with no spending increases and no earmarks, rather than the pork-loaded version with S.510 ("food safety bill") attached. However, now they are attempting to attach S.510 *again* to the new version.
EDIT: I didn't actually go to the link. I think sailingaway sums up the DREAM Act nicely, though.
