The Nevada Republican Executive Committee voted Wednesday night to hold the party's 2012 presidential caucus on February 18, a decision that could make GOP voters in the “First in the West” state third in line to vote for their party's next nominee.

This is good news for us. Nevada is a favorable state for Ron Paul (although it will be hard to topple Romney in such a Mormon-heavy state).

You should use my method of blogging the updates and creating a "custom page" linked to your blog. ;)

After Super Tuesday I see.

Not next year. The RNC adopted new rules that push backed Super Tuesday. Last cycle was really weird as far as that was concerned because it is really rare that you see that kind of front-loading. Super Tuesday is usually the first Tuesday after the first Monday in March, with only a select group of states going before then. The parties decided to write rules to punish states (besides the traditional early states and other caucuses) that went before Super Tuesday this year. I think that was a wise decision. Hopefully, it will take California out of the picture because they used to be the last state to hold a primary, and give the early states back their huge advantage. That way, someone like Paul can pull out with simple retail politicking.

We need more early primary states and they need to be more spread out. I think Iowa and NH are too close as well

Iowa and New Hampshire are around 1,000 miles apart and vastly different cultures. They are good states to hold early primaries in. They are small, and swing states. Large states get influence from delegate counts. The only way small states can have a say is to get in early.

I'm more results oriented. I would get rid of Iowa and New Hampshire, and maybe put in Montana early on.

But I think we need a lot of states before super tuesday that are spread out more than currently so.

Either way it all comes down to Iowa for us. Ron Paul has to do well, placing at least second place, or it is essentially game over. He will be an underdog, despite polling much better than he ever did in 2008. If we want to change the media narrative, we will have to show them we have teeth early on.

Don't worry! They counted it correctly last time and they'll do even better in 2012. Did they forget to mention that only Sue Lowden knows what time the convention has to be shutdown? ;)
