(Audio) Mandeville, LA -The ratification of treaties is a Constitutional duty that is necessary to have a Union. One of the duties that the President is assigned and the Senate must concur in as representatives of the States. With the passage of the 17th Amendment we get no representation of the States. Almost every treaty, unless it's a cease fire or an end of war declaration, that has been passed since could not be on behalf of the sovereign States. We have little to no sovereignty left, much like we have little to no Constitutional values left. So, in respect to the START Treaty that's floating out there somewhere in Mordor is another big sell off of sovereignty, due to giving no say so whatsoever to the States themselves.

Kind of short for a broadcast on the amendment that completely broke the entire system.
I know we liberty folks have a lot of hope for changing things, but until the 17th is repealed and we go back to election by state legislatures, we're just going right back to where we are now.
It's kind of the lynchpin for the whole idea.
