I'm sorry, I just don't like seeing Ron on the same page as Rep Ryan. This ups spending and is a compromise that could be dealt with by the noobs next month (showing that the current GOP leadership are rollovers). They could deny the estate tax increase, axe the unemployment bens if they waited and still maintain the current tax rates. I see this as allowing Obama to posture to the middle and set himself up better for '12 as the middle class man. Am I wrong on this, hope so? I mean, we have a better chance now to capitulate and wait and get what the voters showed up for in Nov in the next Congress. Didn't we all say no new spending?

More to my point, unemployment bens are unconstitutional as well as an estate tax and thus Ron is voting for them giving the excuse that higher taxes (if not dealt with by the noobs) will take place. This is like a lesser of two evils arguments and Ron should go on principle here. I feel the not voting for tax rate increases yet he's voting for an increase in the estate tax and more welfare (unemply bens) so it's a net increase in spending. I thought we always wanted him to decrease the size of govt.. This tax vote is an oxymoron.

This tax compromise does not increase the estate tax! Like Ron said in the interview, the bill cuts the estate tax from 55% to 35%. Ron supports completely abolishing the estate tax, but it's obvious that Obama will NEVER go along with that. Thus, Ron would rather compromise and have the estate tax rate be at 35% with a 5 million dollar exemption then have it be at 55% with a 1 million dollar exemption.
