Rep. Joseph Pitts (http://www.house.gov/pitts/)

Social conservatives scored a victory with the selection of the staunchly pro-life Rep. Joseph Pitts of Pennsylvania as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, which will have jurisdiction over such abortion minefields as private health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, the Food and Drug Administration, and the National Institutes of Health. by Michael Tennant

Joe Pitts is my rep and I don't like him. He has good ideas concerning engery independence, but he is the ultimate theocrat. He wants complete, christian control of every citizen's life. He does not want you to make moral decisions for yourself.

By "Theocrat" you mean he's Pro-Life like Ron Paul?

I don't think the government should force pro-lifers to pay for someone elses abortion. So, I'd side with Pitts because it is a freedom of religion right.

When I mention he is a Theocrat that I don't like, I refer to the bill he's intorduced that would make it illegal for our sevicemen to buy a Playboy magazine. He is also a major player in making online gaming illegal buy blocking payments to providers.

Gambling and porno are vices, but I don't want government involved at the federal level. This is where I justify supporting Ron Paul and not Joe Pitts. Ron Paul's platform of individual liberty (even if it means we are allowed to make bad choices) is not consistent with Joe Pitts platform.
