This guy is laughable. In the 10 minutes I've watched so far, he's cried twice, once after saying he wants to help children, and once after his wife said she's proud of him.

he also talked about how his first plan to balance the budget is to cut his leadership budget by 5%, and other leadership budgets by 5%, as well as general congressional staff budgets.

Between this, Bachmann proposing cutting presidential travel budgets and McCain's earmarks bans, we'll have a balanced budget in no time!

Boehner is just there to keep the status qou (i.e. don't question the government, massive spending on illegal wars, keep the Federal Reserve secret).

Sheesh.

And in answer to your question, of course I'm not watching. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Silence Mundane!

You should be happy and proud that your leaders are so graciously accepting such a painful budgetary cut, in light of the hardships they must endure on a daily basis, to provide such effective and determined leadership into the future!

When doesn't Boehner cry? Politico reported it's something he does all the time and is a constant source of embarrassment for him since he can't stop himself.

Not in your eyes or mine - but do not let the stupidity of the average American be overlooked as most of them most likely love him for it. Look at Glenn Beck after he started bawling on the screen his ratings went way up..

Boehner Begs for Wall Street Dough

House Minority Leader John Boehner met with J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon last week to tell him that congressional Republicans are fighting President Obama’s efforts to curb pay and create new regulations—and, of course, to rattle the tin cup. It was part of Republicans’ efforts to win donations from Wall Street and “make the case that they are the banks’ best hope of preventing President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats from cracking down on Wall Street,” says The Wall Street Journal.

Translation: "even though you are a Socialist Democrat, I will continue to defend everything you do, and take all of the heat, so that you and Obama can implement bigger government. Please throw a little cash my way too."

Joe Scarborough tweeted that Republicans on Capitol Hill tell him "all the time" that House Minority Leader John Boehner "is not the hardest worker in the world" and that by early evening he can be found hitting up the Washington bar scene.

"I hear it on the Hill, I'm sure you hear it on the Hill all the time, it's not reported, but so many Republicans tell me this is a guy that is not the hardest worker in the world,"

Hitting the bars with Nancy Pelosi...

Not even closing time will help Pelosi - just think of waking up to that in the AM

he might be a joke, but next in line is Cantor. that is scary.

Eric Cantor (House Majority Leader-Elect):

Back in February 2010, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) made a pitch to the titans of the financial services industry. "I sense a lot of dissatisfaction and a lot of buyer's remorse on Wall Street," the Virginia Republican said, referencing the industry's supposedly souring relationship with the Obama administration.
...
For a cynical observer, they appeared to be a signal that the GOP was prepared to do the financial services industry's bidding.

Either way, they appeared to have worked.
...
Cantor's office, pressed for comment, framed it as a natural marriage between like-minded free-enterprise theorists.

But David Donnelly, the national campaign director for the Public Campaign Action Fund, offered a more cynical take on the trend, going so far as to call on the office of Congressional Ethics to investigate Cantor for doing Wall Street's bidding.

"Whether Eric Cantor promised Wall Street that Republicans would stay bought might never be known. But what we do know is that in their efforts to fight financial regulation, Wall Street bet heavily on Cantor by giving large amounts of campaign money to him and his PAC -- much more so than in the past. It's another example of Washington's money problem: when legislation and fundraising mix, everyday Americans are shut out."

It was funny because 60 minutes constantly attacked him for the stupidest things. They are so biased... I remember their piece on Rahm Emanuel. No hate there.

I don't hate Boehner. I think he's got more conservativism in him than a lot of his colleagues. That might not be saying much, particularly compared to RP, but I don't hate him. It could be worse.
