...and also mentioned that Ron Paul is backing Julian Assange because "Ron Paul shares a similar concern as I do."

Either Glenn is really coming over to our side, in part thanks to Da Judge, or he's an excellent actor. I think I'm leaning more towards the former.

I tend to think the later,
except for the excellent part.

I'm a Glenn Beck skeptic. But this is going pretty far down the road towards my way of thinking. If Wikileaks takes a good shot at the banks - and I don't mean just B of A, I mean Golden Sacks and the Central Banks - and Beck still supports Wikileaks, then maybe I'm a Beck convert.

Don't count on it. :p

Not so fast. Beck lumps Assange in with anarchists and world socialists then came to a ludicrous point that Michael Moore and Ron Paul in the same group. Also, he does not defend Assange and Wikileaks. He called him a dangerous man. Beck merely defended Assange against the rape charges, not revealing information on the government.

I seriously think that Beck is either a mental patient or controlled opposition. How can anyone lack so much cognitive dissonance that they advocate privatizing the military one day and jailing a whisleblower the next?

when it matters.. he will most likely always screw us.

if he comes out for Ron Paul in 2012 than I will reconsider.

He talks a great game every day.. better and better.. but he has never done anything substantial to help us. quite the contrary. Debra Medina obviously comes to mind.. but that is not the only occasion..

He is on the payroll of Fox News. hard to trust anyone, especially him..

The Judge is a rare breed.

Watch it again, he wasnt defending Julian as far as i saw, he was going into all the global socialists he is tied to.
Later ha said "Even some libertarians are defending this guy" then said he understood their position as to why, to expose the corruption or something of the sort.
But he was not defending Julian directly as far as i saw

I switched over for a minute, saw him trying to connect Assange to Socialists and Commnists, and switched back off.

Fuck Beck.

Right, he wasn't for Assange at all, he went on and on about how Assange is a giant leftist front.

He was only defending Julian on the rape charge (illustrated the timeline very well), but called him names and tied him to radicals.

I'll have to watch the tube. If Beck has defended Wikileaks and/or sided with Ron Paul on the basis that the first amendment is more important than fake security then....

Well, there aren't that many people who are even willing to defend Assange against these rape charges.

America used to be like that. We didn't agree with each other but there were certain lines that you didn't cross, particularly in observance to due process and judicial proceedings, presumed innocence, etc. Now we've carved up our Bill of Rights and have to settle for half of them between two parties that are almost always at odds with each other over these rights, depending on the climate (wavering, lacking principle).

I'm not convinced that Americans are as strong, these days. If Obama and the democrats (or Bush and the republicans) decided to summarily execute everyone from the opposite party, they could probably get away with it (between the members of whatever the majority party is at the time, and those who are just disgustingly apathetic), which is . . . scary. That's just how divided we have become (on the whole, I mean, I'm not talking about those of us here).

In other words, I'll give Beck credit for sticking up for the man's rights and keeping a light on what's happening to him, even if he doesn't agree with Assange's personal beliefs.

Wow.

And that was the most important point of the show today.

Oops! By pointing out the trumped up charges, he boldly acknowledged that the charges are ridiculous and then spoke of pressure from "above and below and inside-out" again, etc.

Oops! If charges are indeed trumped up and people become aware of it, Assange still has credibility, regardless of whether folks agree or disagree that he had a right to publish the cables.

Trumped up charges = someone is running scared.

Whatever else he is, he is "not" a terrorist. They want to use him as a scapegoat to deflect their own failures in security and to CTA-cover their asses.

Interesting, no one is talking about PFC Bradley Manning, or all the bigshots responsible for security, -- only Assange. :)

Daniel Ellsberg practiced "free press", too. True journalism and investigative journalism died after that.

No one on TV talks about the content of the cables; they only talk about Assange and try to demonize and discredit him. :p Kind of makes me want to throw up. I guess they have their "orders".

Too many secrets is why we are in the mess we are in today. :D

After watching it, I've come to the conclusion that Glenn Beck brought up Ron Paul to defend him and actually placed himself in the same camp as Ron as someone who wants to exose govt to restore it, not tear it down to be replaced with global govt.

I'm not a Beck fan and never have been. But Beck did not attack Ron Paul in that segment. Rather Beck said that he and Ron Paul are on the same page on this one. They both think the government is lying and hope these Wikileaks revelations will lead to real change in government as opposed to anarchy and revolution. So unless you think Beck was attacking Beck.....

That said, I need to go take a shower. I have this icky feeling all over my body after defending Glenn Beck.

According to Thomas DiLorenzo on the LRC, he (Beck) denounced Assange this morning:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/72442.html

This morning Faux News dragged Glenn Beck out of bed to further denounce the founder of WikiLeaks as a man who would literally “destroy the world” by informing the public about what our rulers tell us is in our “public interest,” namely, their foreign policy. Then they spoke to Congressman Peter King, the “Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Committee” in Congress, who labeled the WikiLeaks founder as an “enemy combatant.” It’s OK to shoot enemy combatants, in case you forgot.

Not sure if anyone on the forum heard of this, it was in the morning so maybe it slipped past the forum's media scanners. Maybe Tom was just exaggerating.

Yeah... no.

I don't care what network he's on, he's against us if we want real liberty, bottom line.

I don't care if he cries, or says he loves Ron Paul while grinning like a possum chewing briars.

Actually, I think Professor DiLorenzo's interpretation of Beck's words of how Wikileaks could "destroy the world" is completely wrong. Beck definitely did not insinuate that 'destroying the world' is a negative thing per se.

He was underscoring the magnitude of what is being exposed via these new documents as having potentially massive implications on what shapes foreign policy for world central governments.

I love DiLorenzo's work, but I think his interpretation of what Beck was saying is out of context here.
