I saw the video of the execution and they did in fact chant "Muqtada", and as Saddam responded "Mugtada?" they dropped the gate from under him.

I saw the video of the execution and they did in fact chant "Muqtada", and as Saddam responded "Mugtada?" they dropped the gate from under him.

Saddam replied "Muqtada" in a mocking tone. Then he proceeded to recite the shahadah: "I bear witness that there is no god but God, and Muhammad is his Prophet". He began to recite the shahadah for a second time but was cut short and the gate was dropped.

As he swung around, the Shias yelled out "May the blessings of God be on Muhammad and the progeny of Muhammad."
