It's just sucker play to get them the power to decide what is allowed on the internet.

This is already very possibly (and not terribly uncommon) to be done at public schools.

I hate these titles. There is no such thing as FREE!! Everything has a cost. You will be paying for internet through higher taxes (unless of course you are the parasites who feed off taxes (and whether you want internet or not!)). How the fuck is getting taxed and then a worse service provided to you 'free'? Apparently everything was free in Communist Soviet Union. That must mean Soviet Union was a paradise, right? Bzzzzt.

Cool your jets, AED. I know it's not 'free.'

I know, I was merely pushing out my frustration for all the Statist-drivel that is accelerating everywhere and for the apologia I routinely deal with at work ::mad face::

Ah I hear ya man. Everyday state-creep gets worse and worse. Even as a conservative who thinks we need a state (let's not debate that point here), I've had more than enough of it thep ast few years.

Well this should be right up the alley of those who have decided here that parents shouldn't have the right to instill what values they want in their children because unless parents acquiesce to the popular culture and definitions of the day the children are being abused and held back from achieving true liberty. So lets provide free broadband for all children with unlimited access to all the world provides. Any censorship is to be at the discretion of the majority (which means those in elected positions). And it will be your responsibility as parents to enforce your children receive a prescribed number of hours a day of surf time under penalty of law.

Danke liked to joke about it, but I'd almost certainly be in the US military, deployed to Iraq, fighting for my pay raise right now if it weren't that I was allowed unlimited access to the Internet growing up. ... My family would be very proud of my sacrifice, I wouldn't have an addiction to politics or the ultra-cynical worldview which accompanied it, and I'd never question if what I was doing was right or wrong based on reason and facts - I'd just "know" -- and I'd never be the ***** person at family political discussions who says something totally outlandish like "I don't think the government should be in the business of issuing marriage licenses in the first place." I wouldn't have anything to occupy myself after school, so I'd have probably taken up some more extracurricular activities and maybe have done my homework (or attend class).... And I would possibly have non-depressing hobbies to take up my extra time. Maybe ballroom dancing.

I mean.... Man, that'd be terrible. ... ..... Terrible.

In French, mignon means cute or dainty. I doubt they named her after a cut of meat :P but who knows.

Clearly Jim Clyburn was thinking of the french meaning --- he has that haute, bourgeosie, sophiscated style.
