So far, our choices for RNC Chair are Michael Steele (affirmative action lackey), Saul Anuzis (the guy who tried to get Ron Paul banned from the 2008 debates), Ann Wagner (Bush operative), Mike Duncan (Mitch McConnell's lapdog), or Reince Priebus (the guy who changed the Wisconsin GOP rules to disfavor Tea Party candidates).

Why not offer up a good candidate for RNC Chair, that is well-liked by all segments of the GOP? Barry Goldwater, Jr. for instance. He has business management experience, he's worked on national campaigns, and he's run seven successful campaigns of his own. He can represent the voice of the Tea Party, while he still knows his way around the establishment.

I heard Jr. talk before and he didn't sound like anything special... sounding like your typical old-guard republican if you ask me?

Any sources on his positions to dissuade from that opinion?

He endorsed Ron in the primary last year.

It would be nice to have a friend as RNC.

However, he might not be interested.

LiveLeak.com - Barry Goldwater Jr. supports Ron Paul on FOX 01/07/2008 (http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=7fd_1199735207)

"Shame on Fox for not having him at the debate last night."

he wasn't well a year or so ago (at the Ron Paul BBQ where he was speaking) so he may not be up to it unless that has changed.

I don't think he's up for it. There was a push here to get him to run for AZ Gov or another office, and he didn't want to.

the rnc establishment will pick who they want! We have no say no matter what they tell you! We will see if the rnc proves me wrong!

I like BGJr, but I would be worried that he'd embarrass us through too high a volume of alcohol consumption. :( IIRC he was kinda sloshed at several events in 2007-2008, BEFORE the afterparty where people were actually supposed to get sloshed, I mean at the actual events where he was to stand up and speak. Could be a mistaken impression I got, but I'll want that clarified for me before I support him for RNC chair. If it turns out to be true, our putting him there could embarrass our whole movement. :(
