"The Tea Party Nation wants Sarah Palin to be the new Republican National Committee chair and they've made it clear with a letter from its leader and founder, Judson Phillips.

"We need you as Chairman of the RNC," he said in the letter, which was posted on Talking Points Memo.

Phillips released the letter because Palin has "shown in the past no hesitation to take on the establishment." The letter warns that if an "establishment" candidate wins the nomination against President Obama in 2012, it will mean "Obama and the socialists will have won."

We need someone who will put conservatives in control of the party apparatus, not RINOs," he writes..."

oh good grief...I am so tired of seeing how anti-establishment this woman is when she does nothing but recite the same chants they do.

...

I hope she keeps making a fool of herself. The last thing we need is a socially-competent Palin.

I support her for this position.

She has endorsed some good anti-establishment candidates in primaries such as Rand Paul, Clint Didier, and Joe Miller.

It would keep her away from the whitehouse.

Hard to predict what happens if she runs for president.

I think Paul benefits from a very crowded primary rather than one like 2000 where Bush slammed through everyone early on.

It frightens me that people still consider her worthy of any position in society that requires any sort of above average IQ. Liberals hear Sarah Palin and Tea Party in the same sentence and immediately disregard any and all things in any way related. I thought it was difficult getting people to pay attention for more than five minutes about Ron Paul before Sarah Palin became the media queen of the tea party. It's like, hey let's find the two personalities viewed as having the lowest intelligence (according to Liberals: Beck and Palin) and we'll have them say all the important stuff that Ron Paul says that way they will never even entertain the thought. I know I'm preaching to the choir, so I apologize for the ranting.

She'd be absolutely brilliant at this position, actually. Everyone likes her as a person, and she's a great fundraiser, and as a power in her own right, she can keep folks in line.

However, she can't both do this and run for president.

Now this I can live with. God Bless America.

I have agree.... there is a chance she'd be better than the replacements being touted who seem devout neocons, enemies, and for opposing grassroots participation. Michael we know is somewhat open, and Palin could be....

Quite frankly, if it is possible to make this happen, we probably should. From talking to tea party people in KY, they respect Ron Paul, but Palin is who many of them are excited about. I think they might well support Ron if she wasn't running....

This actually may work to our benefit. She's more opportunist than she is establishment. She'll go which ever way the wind blows. We just need to make it blow in our direction.

Actually, she could help the Liberty movement if she was in this position.

Having her in this position would be a great victory for the liberty movement. The statements she's made over the past year indicate to me that she will repeat whatever happens to be the popular narrative, and right now that narrative is one that is anti-establishment and pro-freedom. It'd be a pretty benign post with potentially huge payoffs if we can get her to continue to support people like Rand and Ron and Joe Miller in upcoming primaries.

She endorsed Rand. True, he was winning, but it wasn't necessarily, nationwide, the popular narrative.

Best scenario is having as many as possible.

Esp the big four: Palin, Huck, Romney and Gingrich.

They all are awful, but it is nice to have them beat up on each other and crowd the field.

I disagree... Palin seems to be the chief draw of tea party votes away from Ron Paul. Without her in the race, he would be pretty much the tea party, anti-establishment candidate.

The tea party has little love for Romney or Gingrich. Maybe a little for Huck because many are religious... but still.

I think this is a position where Palin could actually be an asset to our movement. Even if we don't like her policy positions, the beauty is she wouldn't be making policies - just working raise money, bring the party together, and support Republicans. This seems like a perfect solution to me.

Doesn't matter what position she is elected to she'll just quit to do something else. Woman has no scruples and will do whatever she pleases.

No money in it for her. She's a professional celebrity, not a politician.
