View Full Version : Texas governor Rick Perry goes on attack

Perry is preparing to use his position as chairman of the Republican Governors Association to mount a full frontal assault in defense of state's rights and to push back against the federal government. Clean Air Regulations, Medicaid, Border Security and Social Security are all in the sights of Perry's offensive.

By no means is Perry "one of us", but he is a skilled politician with influence and will likely be a powerful voice in the Tea Party movement over the next two years.

I'd be down for this! Although..it doesn't seem like he did much of this as governor.

wolf in sheeps clothing, for sure. I'm from Texas and I've seen him in action. he talked about secession earlier in the year and then backtracked and retracted it.
don't forget he endorsed Rudy Giuliani in 2008.

Retracted the secession talk....he's doing to retract every promise he ever makes for the rest of his life.

Yup, Perry is going to talk the talk all the way up to the Republican convention in summer 2012, in order to get the nod as the P or VP candidate. The GOP leaders may want to put together a so-called "slam dunk" ticket of Perry/Rubio, or Jeb Bush/Perry, which they think will lock up TX and FL, and may pull a larger chunk of the Latino vote than usual.

The way I see we have to stand behind anyone who seriously fights for states rights. Our problem is with the centralization of power more than anything else. That is why if a socialist NE state wants to secede or nullify, or claim states rights....by all means go ahead. At least people can move.

We need governors like Perry who will challenge the power abuses in Washington. So I am all for it.

Ridiculous. They're already grooming Perry for president. He's a full on DC insider, there is really nothing to see here, Perry is a power tripping statist that doesn't give a shit about individual rights.
