His term as Governor is up soon.

Is Arnold Schwarzenegger going to run for Senate?

Why the hell would he ever run for political office in California again with an approval rating in the 20s? His unpopularity is universal among all political parties, so he couldn't get nominated as a Republican (or as a Democrat for that matter), and Charlie Crist's demise demonstrates that the "Independent" route isn't going to work either.

Isn't he going to be busy being Al Gore in the new R20 environmental cartel racket?

He certainly can't in California.

If he was a much better governor, he could have run for president.

How? Schwarzenegger was born in Austria.

How?

Constitutional requirements don't seem to be verified anymore.

I doubt it, being a legislator is not his style

but Maria might. they feel they need a Kennedy in the senate

One of the socialist parties put up a candidate who was actually an illegal immigrant in 2008. It's legal to run - they just aren't allowed to win.

because for president you are voting for electors; and it is possible (legally) to split what electors you vote for, although not practical

His wife is a Democrat, she won't run against Dianne Feinstein, so it's the end of the line for them in politics. They seem okay with that, last time I saw Schwarzenegger on a Sunday political show, he seemed ready to step aside. He did some good as Governor, although more bad, but as far as California goes, it can always be much, much worse.

Feinstein is 77. she will probably retire. another term would bring her to 85.

You may want to check your math there . .

Kinda funny Californians went way out of their way a couple of years ago to recall their governor, just to replace him with a worse one.

As governor he did nothing good for the state, at least nothing conservative. Republicans don't like him, democrats don't like him, and he wouldn't win. The Republican base would push him to the sidelines or not let him run.

I actually feel bad for him - the guy was faced with an impossible job.

Whether you like him or not you gotta respect him:

1. Wanted to become a bodybuilder - became the most successful bodybuilder of all time.

2. Wanted to become an actor - and with very limited talent became one of the biggest draws in the industry.

3. Wanted to get into politics - and while not eligible for President became governor of the biggest state.
