Americans like to feel safe without any individual effort. Many Americans will delegate their responsibility to others until they realize they no longer have the choice to delegate, i.e. mere subjects of authoritarianism. I don't know. I was just a regular fiscally conservative Republican before I read up on Ron Paul. I just didn't pay much attention to politics. I figured that's what we paid politicians for, (sort of like garbagemen.) Maybe a little more socially liberal than most, but given I live in California, not necessarily so. Mind you, I didn't realize there were people who really didn't seem to CARE what the Constitution said...

Really? I thought that the Republican establishment was gradually reversing itself on the war issue? Guys like Michael Savage, O'Reilly, and even Limbaugh seem to be hammering the nail the other way now.

And if we assume that the vast majority of conservatives are intellectual sheep who follow manipulative crazies like Glenn Beck, then they should be following the shepherd, right?
