I was listening to a morning show from Los Angeles called "Kevin and Bean" with Lisa May and they were all shilling for the scanners..
1. They were saying how the person who reads the scanner can't see you because they are in a booth (of course they never mention the health effects of a properly functioning, or worse malfunctioning scanner)
2. They were talking about the pat-downs, and how horrible they are and how they feel up your private parts.. so they were saying that people should just go through the scanners and not participate in opt-out day.
3. Another reason being that they were complaining about how passengers are going to have to wait in longer lines.
The Mayor of Los Angeles apparently did a photo-op yesterday at the airport, going through both the scanner and the pat-down. They are all trying to encourage people not to participate in opt-out day.
