I don't think they are wasting their time. They are doing more than telling people about the fundraising. They are reminding them to register and encouraging them to spread the word.

My notice was captured by my anti-spam software. For some reason even though I repeatedly tell the software the domain and the sender are safe and it's not junk, it keeps catching Ron Paul stuff. Your friend's might have been caught too. Tell her to check her junk mail.
