TSA Chief: US Will Never Ease Screening Policy
Hints at Even More Intrusive Measures to 'Take TSA to the Next Level'

TSA Chief John Pistole reiterated today that the administration has absolutely no intention of ever changing its screening policy, insisting that the TSA is “the last line of defense for the US government” and that all the incidents of groping he was asked about were “appropriate” in the face of terrorists.
Though some said President Obama’s feigned sympathy suggested a change might be in the offing, Pistole seemed determined to indicate that the system is only going to get more intrusive over time.

Indeed as a number of Americans look to train travel to avoid the systematic genital groping that air travel has become, Pistole warned in separate comments that rail traffic was his top priority, hinting that he might add more intrusive screener there and elsewhere because he wants “to take TSA to the next level.”

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton further chimed in on the pat-downs, taking much the similar tack as the president. Clinton insisted she wouldn’t want to have to submit to pat-downs, but that she was perfectly fine with the program continuing for other people. She, like President Obama, is exempt from the screening process.

The TSA website also sought once again to cow American travelers into submission on the issue of “enhanced pat downs,” reiterating that once you are in line anything the TSA screener demands must be complied with and that failure to do so would result in a $11,000 fine and detention. They also warned that any garment warn for religious modesty, or indeed even underwire bras, were like to result in “enhanced” screening.

US Will Never Ease Screening Policy

THIS IS ABOUT PROTECTION OF GOVERNMENT

The screening policy is one of the surest ways to destroy the government.
Whether TSA guy likes it or not, he's advocating for the final demise of the republic.
We will either continue running head-long toward total fascism, or the existing system will be dismantled, probably from a total collapse followed by total complacency toward doing anything about it.

Last year DC was buried under 3ft of snow and the world took particular notice that it was still turning during that time.
It would only take a month of federal destitution and impotence for the world to figure it out. And Mr. TSA has us pointed that way and is flooring it.

Until they get the National ID card; then TSA will ease up for a year a go right back to where they are today...

Do you really think they'd stop this behavior even if they got a National ID card?

That ID Card wouldn't stop anyone from blowing up a plane in the same way a driver's license doesn't stop dangerous driving.

The simplest solution to the "security" nonsense is to come up with about 15 different ways of doing it. They could range from NOTHING up to full on behavior profiling with specific, direct questioning like the Israelis. Then, randomly deploy them across the system, and change them up every few days, meaning NOBODY knows what anyone will get when they get to the airport.

They'll ease the policy when the TSA goes bankrupt with the rest of the state.

Checks and balances? Congress and legislate it away. Supreme court can rule against it. If that does not happen, we can elect a president that enforces in the 4th amendment.

Or the American People grow some balls and exercise their 2nd amendment right to secure the rest of their rights against Tyranny.

Bingo! I was just copying that line to draw attention to it, when I scrolled down and saw this post.

Here's a quiz for all those who think the government's interested in protecting you:

Q: What would be protected first, in case of general attack:

1. US government buildings and US government personnel.
2. You and your house.

A: They'll protect themselves. And if they have to destroy your house in order to do so, they won't think twice. In their minds, you exist to facilitate their goals.

Just let each airline handle their own security. Folks like me who value liberty and aren't afraid of their own shadow (or a risk far smaller than an auto accident on the way to the airport) can fly Freedom Air. Terrified sheep can fly CavitySearchAir.

I wish I believed in an afterlife so that I could know this rotten piece of scum had a place in hell reserved for him.

I'm starting to not even care about economic differences between ideologies anymore, stuff like this is far more important. People who support these invasive things are far worse than anyone who advocates social democracy or even socialism. At least those people still believe in civil liberties.

I think all the people who agree on civil liberties and rightfully oppose this nonsense should call a truce and fight together against. It seems before people were willing to put a truce on non-economic issues to focus on economic, but I see this as a higher priority. I don't really give a damn what our economic situation is if there is no liberty left to enjoy it with.

qft

and adding, I wonder if smaller airlines could begin operating out of smaller airports with an overall better customer experience, including their own rules on security, etc., and begin a little free market competition with the big guys? afaik, this may already be happening in certain places.

I was about to send the quote: “the last line of defense for the US government” to someone. From the context of the antiwar.com article I completely agreed with you on its interpretation.

While I think this is a bit off topic as it doesn't dismiss the fact that the TSA will continue becoming more invasive and will refuse to let down, I think it is important to note that the focus on the quote: “the last line of defense for the US government” is a bit misleading when looking at the transcript that was linked from antiwar.com. I will no longer be sending the quote to this person because the TSA chief said in full

...the construct is that TSA is really the last line of defense for the U.S. government in trying to keep the traveling public safe.

His full quote is intended to make the TSA appear necessary and succeeds in protecting the people and must do anything to protect them. I think it is an important correction even though the quote is simply a justification of a government agency.
