WJ started off with some stories and the question: "What would you be willing to sacrifice" Lotta people calling in saying the wars and foreign aid. :D

The NYT's did a budget puzzle that let people solve the budget:

It makes it clear that the American People do not have to sacrifice anything to balance the budget. We just have to stop being the worlds policeman and downsize the government some.

As to jobs, we are being regulated and taxed to death. If you want the economy to take off, get rid of the federal regulatory agencies and hopefully the states would follow.
