thats about 11 MILLION per year......

think the unthinkable...and imagine that these "toothpaste terrorists" were able to blow up 1 plane per year

so, if you fly 1 round trip per year your odds of being blown up are 1 in 5.5 million! That's much more improbable than hitting the lottery!

lets say you fly 1 round trip each and every month.....the odds of you being blown up over a 20 year period (during which time these mythical terrorists would have blown up 20 planes)......would still be about 1 in 100,000 over a 20 year period...

Only one airport in my regular routine, Boston, has the porno scanners.

Some of the TSA know me by look, since I raise as much hell as I can, while opting out.

I have been groped prior to the 1 November "enhanced" groping and that wasn't pleasant at all.

There is genital contact even with the old style pat down.

When I flew the last time, the line to the porno scanner was too long and they were shunting sheeple through the standard metal detector.

I got lucky and ducked through that.

I'll be flying on Opt Out Day, and I think my returning flight's departure airport will have the porno scanners by then.

I'll certainly be opting out and making sure everybody around me knows why.

My wife and children will never fly as long as I'm alive and kicking. I'd go to jail the day I saw some sweaty government fuck up feeling up my pre pubescent daughter like that.:mad:

I took two trips the month before 9/11. I liked the airport and flying when I was a little kid and security didn't act like the Gestapo. Now I hate having to take a trip on a plane. I'd avoid it if at all possible. Sadly, for many of us, it simply isn't practical. I shouldn't be forced to choose between my privacy and seeing my mother. It just ain't right.

So, in conclusion, this one hits home in a way most other government activity simply doesn't. That's why I think that this might be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I'm like you, I love the act of flying, hell, I hold a Private Pilot license and fly for fun from time to time. (which is another travesty of this whole frippin' ball of nonsense. I could rent a small aircraft tomorrow and cause mayhem if I wanted to. :mad:)

But this nonsense that commercial aviation has become is sucking all the fun out of it, to the point now I dread having to head to the airport.

Someday soon I hope to find local work, or just go farkin bankrupt and never leave my home county again. It's pretty and enjoyable enough to do that.
