LOL Conspiracy Theory more Popular than Bill Maher

1.193 million viewers vs 1.120 million viewers (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2010/11/15/friday-cable-ratings-sanctuary-rises-friday-night-smackdown-avalon-high-nba-wizards-of-waverly-more/72117) on Friday 11/15 and it got close with Olbermann (1.137 million and has a better time slot) and beat Maddow (883,000 and she shares the same time slot) (http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2010/11/15/cable-news-ratings-for-friday-november-12-2010/72113). And Conspiracy Theory is on a less recognized cable channel that probably isn't even available in as many households as MSNBC.

For the record I think Conspiracy Theory is "what if" rather than fact mostly. The only thing I get out of it practically is what government might be able to do and what authority it's already being given.

And now I get the benefit of knowing it beats Maddow, Olbermann, and Lawrence O'Donnell. How embarrassed they must feel!

Not to poopoo the news item but HBO is a pay premium channel while TruTV and MSNBC are not. Hardly can compare. I think that heavily favors Maher when subscription numbers are weighted.

I kinda always looked down at that show. However the stats look rather promising if anything to show that people would rather watch make belief then corporate news.

I understand the show has a "searching for bigfoot" sort of feel to it, but I think calling it make believe is a little unfair. Some episodes are a little silly, but the Wall Street show, the Global Warming Show, and the Secret Societies show, were pretty well referenced in fact. This definitely is not a scholarly work on the subject but it is breaking through the titanium walls of gate keeping censorship that the main stream media has become. Exploring topics that the mainstream dare not touch.

So? HBO's average ratings are much higher than TruTV's. Besides, the TruTV show beat out the BSNBC darlings Madcow and Oldbitterman. You can quibble about how much of a thrashing Maher really got, but there's no spinning the BSNBC losses.
