YouTube - Young Boy strip searched by TSA (Original w/ Description) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSQTz1bccL4)

Info from video: Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn't end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn't hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins.

I am pissed at the Dad. I am a Father and I, in no way, would allow this to happen to any of my children. I don't know how he did not fight this and I also am enraged at the people around this who just watched it happen and kept on blindly following the direction of their perverted masters. That boy was obviously a mule for terrorists. While this boy was searched, an actual terrorist could have slid through because he didn't set off a "trigger". And exactly what trigger did this boy set off?

If 10 year old boys were bombing planes, I'm sure we'd have heard about it.

Still patting down your kids if they set off alarms, but at least there's no "enhanced" anymore. I talked about this with my sister and she was who informed me of this. I was heartened to see that she, who usually is all for "safety" and all that, has taken a stand. She has the link and the information with her in case the TSA tries to plead ignorance of the rules. Her kids are below 12, so at very least this saves them for now.
No 'enhanced' pat-downs for kids, TSA says

Children going through airport security will no longer be subject to the aggressive pat-downs that have riled some passengers and will instead face less-intrusive hand searches from screeners, the Transportation Security Administration said Tuesday.

"After a thorough risk assessment and after hearing concerns from parents, we made the decision that a modified pat-down would be used for children 12 years old and under who require extra screening," TSA spokeswoman Kristin Lee said in a statement.

The TSA last month began "enhanced" pat-downs on passengers who decline to enter body scanners that create graphic images of people under their clothes and are viewed in a private room by screeners. Some passengers complained the pat-downs were intrusive, while others have protested the body scanners as a privacy invasion.

The TSA decision to ease screening for children came as the agency was sued Tuesday by two airline pilots seeking to block the use of body scanners and enhanced pat-downs. The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., by Michael Roberts, an ExpressJet Airlines pilot who created a minor stir last month when he refused to undergo a body scan and a pat-down at Memphis International Airport, where he was trying to board a flight to his base in Houston. The other plaintiff is Continental Airlines first officer Ann Poe.

<shakes head> how do these parents do it?

seriously.. i couldn't explain to my daughters why it would be needed for them to be felt all up and around and stripped in public... how absolutely humiliating!

and for what? our security?! i can guarantee that boy DOESNT feel safe, in fact quite the opposite.. n the person the boy relies on to keep him safe, IS HOLDING HIS DAMN ARMS OUT... <shakes head> bad bad lessons to be instilling in kids..

can't secure our damn border but they got enough man power to make sure the American public can be felt up and humiliated.. how can anyone be proud of this? why is our president defending this? makes me wanna bang my head against the wall...

The video is epic. The ultimate in neglected adults with ability to wield unreasonable force, against the definition of free will. Most of these personality types are destine to be child abusers in the outside world.

My take is the TSA will fail 'The common sense' test every single time. As for the dad, cant say since I wasn't there. If the kids autistic hes not going to want to be touched one way or another.

TSA version:

On November 19, a family was traveling through a TSA checkpoint at the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC). Their son alarmed the walk through metal detector and needed to undergo secondary screening. The boy's father removed his son's shirt in an effort to expedite the screening. After our TSO completed the screening, he helped the boy put his shirt back on. That's it. No complaints were filed and the father was standing by his son for the entire procedure

Video Taker's version:

Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn't set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn't complete the full pat on the young boy. ******* THIS VIDEO OCCURRED AT SALT LAKE CITY INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON NOVEMBER 19TH AT AROUND THE TIME OF 12:00 PM **********

***Insertion of what happened after the video (full story)****

After I finished videotaping the incident I went through the check point myself. I collected my things and went over to talk to the father and son. Before I could get to them a man in a black suit who had been talking with the other TSA officials approached me. He asked to speak to me and I obliged, wondering what was to come. He then proceeded to interrogate me about why I was videotaping the "procedures of the TSA". I told him that I had never seen such practices before on a young child and decided to record it. The man being frustrated at this point demanded to know my plans with the video, of which I didn't respond. Repeatedly he asked me to delete the video, hoping his mere presence could intimidate me to obey, but I refused. By this point it became obvious that he felt TSA had done something wrong and that I caught it on tape. After the interview, I left for my gate. I called my brother who told me I should put the tape on YouTube because this had been a recent hot topic in the news.
My gate was a long way off, but about 15 minutes after arriving 2 TSA agents came and sat 15 feet or so away from me. I stood up and moved so that they were in front of me and then took a picture. A 3rd and then a 4th agent came and sat down with the others. They would occasionally glance at me and talk on their walkie-talkies. I don't know why they were there or if it was a huge coincidence but they stayed for 30-45 minutes and left just before I boarded the plan. Interesting to say the least, intimidating? Maybe a little...

Yes, Melissa it is all or nothing at this point.

One of the last lines in the sand is right here, right now.

FYI my children and my wife don't fly commercial, will never fly commercial, and if it came to a life and death situation I would rent a small aircraft and fly them myself. (I'm a private pilot).

Subjecting pre pubescent children to this is felony child abuse.

If this is not stopped, right here and right now, the state will have an open mandate to do whatever it wants, whenever it wants, to whomever it wants.

Choose a side, all or nothing.

We're getting there. There have to be two things (1) Anger (2) Leadership that takes that anger and channelizes it into useful action.

This TSA crap over Thanksgiving, and I'm assuming they won't learn anything from their stupidity by Christmas, will help considerably on the anger scale, as the people who can afford to fly represent a good part of the productive segment of society.

We need the leadership, and this is one of the reasons I really likes the Stewart Rhodes interview about the next project for Oath Keepers in pulling vets together to help the states get the muscle to resist the feds anti-Constitutional crap.

The fact is that libertarians have been mostly ineffective at turning that anger into useful action - too busy fighting among ourselves to move the ball down the field in our direction.

I guess I don't have that perception. There has been a lack of action sometimes, but I don't think it's because of disagreements.

When there's something to be done, we pull together in an instant -- we see that right here on this board.

It's about

#1: Good ideas
#2: Not being lazy
#3: Courage

It's fun to bitch and whine -- and there's nothing wrong with digesting the news with likeminded people, but what have you (yes you, the reader) done today to advance liberty in the real world (meaning meatspace -- or at least virtual space that's not a libertarian forum)?
